Hello everyone,

I hope I'm posting in the right part of the forum. I have a problem; I need to mount one part of a Kiddyguard Accent stair gate on the "wall" you see in picture 1. There are a total of 5 screws needed. When I started screwing in the first middle screw, it stopped gripping. I stopped and checked what material I encountered. It's gypsum first, then I thought I would hit wood, but I'm encountering some kind of metal, meaning the screw didn't continue to grip.

Does anyone here have experience with similar constructions and can advise on what I should do or what type of screw I can use? You can see the hole more specifically in picture 2, but unfortunately, I didn't capture the metal that's just inside there.

Regards,
Philip

Metal stud behind the plasterboard. Try drilling or making a small hole so the tip of the screw can catch.

Thank you! I'll try it!

Sat like a rock afterward :)

Since the problem is solved, I can go off-topic.
What ten-year-old whiskey do you have in the liquor cabinet?

Good catch! It is actually port wine; Barao de Vilar. What's mostly consumed is rum and calvados. The 23-year-old Zacapa always goes down well, and the same with the Boulard X.O. calvados :)
