Help - what is this called? Electronic locks for bathrooms?
Hello!
A new bathroom is under construction.
It will be a bathroom with two exits, both leading into a bedroom.
I received a tip from a friend that there are reasonably priced electronic door locks for this type of door-room combination, where you press a button next to the door to lock both doors, and then BOTH doors return to an unlocked state when you exit the bathroom from the inside.
Does anyone here have an idea of what these types of locks are called and especially where one can purchase them?
A BIG THANK YOU IN ADVANCE.
Happy summer from Jörgen
P.S. I have, of course, googled. Bauhaus had, for example, a lot of electronic locks - but by all accounts, they are for front doors and patio doors.

Sounds like a quite unique solution. I've never seen electric locks on interior doors in a regular house. Can your friend provide the manufacturer of these smart locks?
Everything can be assembled with electronics and logic; the only question is what one gains from such a solution.

He wrote at the start of the thread, it solves a really annoying problem where:
1: you can go in to shower, forget to lock the other door and get an unintentional visit.
2: you can lock both doors, and when you're done, forget to unlock the other door. Then it appears to others that it's still occupied, plus you have to walk around the whole house and through at least one bedroom to get in.
I would never put up with such a bathroom unless the doors were electrically controlled...
Thanks so far! Yes, the English page seems to have exactly that system. If anyone has tips on Swedish sites or stores that offer this solution, I am very grateful.
@SueCia: Thanks - that's exactly what I'm thinking. Especially in the evening! Person 1 enters from their bedroom and manually locks both doors with old-fashioned locks. Then they go out to their bed through one door and lie down to sleep - but have forgotten to unlock the bathroom door on the other side. The person in bedroom two wonders why the door is locked all night and, in the worst case, must enter from the other side, i.e., into person no. 1’s bedroom, indirectly risking waking them up.
Not fun!!!! So some kind of smart lock is definitely needed here!

Now it was what TS wanted, but can't a simple key be enough, you lock your door first and then the neighbor's door, then you can't get out until you've unlocked the neighbor's door.
If it's so difficult to forget, it's just as easy as forgetting to press the button.

Contact a locksmith, they will be able to solve it for you or at least give you advice on the right products.

What are you trying to say with that? Most people want to lock the doors when they do their business. Sounds pretty off-putting to walk in on your partner when she's doing her business.
@Niklasloow: thanks - it's the same solution, "Jack & Jill," that wsp recommended a bit higher up. Definitely a very good value product. My only objection is that the module that controls the electricity is quite large (shoebox-sized) and must be neatly hidden on the outside of the bathroom - but maybe that can still work.
But as I said, if anyone here has more tips on products and manufacturers, your suggestions would be very welcome.
@ previous contributors: I respect the opinions. But we have completely different views on what is obviously troublesome. In a large family, fumbling with keys at two doors EVERY time you need to use the bathroom compared to pressing a button that controls both doors is no contest in favor of electronics if you have the picture clear in your mind. An unlocked bathroom door - whether the family is liberal-minded or not - is not a realistic option for me.

If the system is expensive, it can be resolved with:
A transformer
2 electric strike plates
2 chests possibly
Two spring-loaded switches
1 key switch (for emergency opening from the outside)
1 changeover impulse relay
Not sure if this will be cheaper or not though.
