Hello!
I'm considering making a half wall instead of a trellis by our hall staircase. But I don't know if it's possible since we have tiles with heating coils underneath. We would then need to build the wall on top of the tiles about 10 cm in. Would we need to remove the tiles and heating coils, i.e., take everything up, or is there something we can use in between to protect without removing anything at all?

I hope someone understands what I mean and can provide a (quick) answer! Otherwise, my partner will probably soon paint the trellis instead... and I don't want that ;)

Thanks in advance! And have a great weekend.
Best regards, Ajnor

I would try gluing the rule that is supposed to rest against the floor with PL 400 and then build up the half wall from that.

It's probably just a matter of building. You won't affect the tiles or underfloor heating with a small half wall if that's what you were wondering?
How does it look around the railing today? Can you attach your half wall to a wall as well? We have similar plans for our stairs, but I would finish our half wall with a post from floor to ceiling where the stairs begin and attach the other end to the wall. I get the feeling that it becomes too unstable right where you lean on the half wall when going down the stairs otherwise.
With such a construction, I expect that double-sided tape underneath will be enough.

Hello!
It sounds like we have similar thoughts regarding how to attach the half wall. We have a post from floor to ceiling at one end and a wall at the other. Thanks for the answers!
