I plan to mount a 170cmx40cmx1.6cm shelf with 3 brackets of galvanized steel. The two outermost brackets will be attached to a wooden stud that is 100cm apart, the third bracket in between with molly bolts. There are 3 holes on the bracket.
What size screws should I use to attach to the wooden stud? I have 5x60mm screws from Ikea. Should I buy screws with a larger diameter to handle more weight?
I also plan to mount a shelf on concrete/lightweight concrete with Fischer duopower plugs. I know there is a minimum length the screw should have. However, can the screw be as long as you want, or is there a maximum length?
Apologies for my silly questions, but I couldn't find an answer on the internet. ;)
