we are in the middle of the construction process of our stone house (1-story) which is being built in siporex (Ytong), including the interior walls, and right now we are deciding on what to do with the interior walls.
As we understand, there are 3 options we can consider:
1. Use Knauf MP75 gypsum plaster sprayed on with a machine and then leveled with a long board. This gives you a completely smooth surface that is 8-10 mm thick, which can then be painted or wallpapered.
2. Hand apply plaster over a large area. You apply about a 4 mm thick layer. This surface also becomes completely smooth and can then be painted or wallpapered.
3. Use exterior plaster indoors. This gives you a slightly grainy surface.
What are your experiences with this? Advantages vs disadvantages? Is any of the solutions less prone to cracking due to settling of the house? Price differences between the different solutions?
Has anyone requested quotes on the different options?
We are currently most strongly considering option 1, i.e., the gypsum plaster, since it seems like it would be the fastest and thereby save on labor costs, but on the other hand, the material cost might increase...
