Gray metallic mass when drilling in concrete

Hello,

My wife and I decided to drill a bit into a concrete wall today.
We're both quite inexperienced and live in an apartment, so we don't really know what we're doing.

When we were on the last hole, some sort of gray hard metallic substance came out.
Until then, it had just been dust substances.
Any veterans out there who know what we might have drilled into?:x

What do you mean by mass?

Maybe you just drilled into a rebar?

I've googled a bit about rebar and it seems like that might be the case.
