glulam beam for lower inner ceiling
In the machine hall that is 4.5 meters, I want to have a lower ceiling.
The hall is 8*10 meters and the question is how I should proceed.
One half should be 3 and one 3.5, considering then to put a glulam beam over the short side, i.e., 8 meters. I want to be able to walk on the part that is 3m but the other side should not bear more weight than insulation and ceiling plaster. Where can I find an 8-meter glulam beam? Preferably, I don't want a post in the middle.
Then from that beam, you set 5 meters to the edge. slightly easier measurements there.

Let's say I take an 8 meters. What does such a one cost? I don't know what a reasonable size should be...
That's where you have the problem. They are usually sold in 3, 6, and 12 meters as standard. That is, they buy 12 meters and cut them up, if you're lucky you can get them to cut 8+4, but the risk is that you have to buy a 12 and cut it yourself.
There might be more well-behaved lumberyards than the ones I have access to that can fix an 8 as well. The price completely depends on the size.

Regarding the price, at least Beijer has a price per meter.
