I'm finally working on my carport. I'm at the stage where I need to glue together two posts that will support a glulam beam (630x115). I've read several different threads but can't find a good answer to my question. Should the heartwood side be in the same direction or different? Some say the annual rings should be in the same direction and some say not. What's the rule? The post I'm making will be 115mm thick and I'm planning to glue together two 2" boards and one 1" board. How should I orient the heartwood here?
