Hello
I live in a townhouse from the 70s (wood) 135 square meters on 2 floors. I plan to take down the famous wall between the kitchen and the dining room to get a larger kitchen. The wall is 3600mm and runs from the exterior wall to about 1/3 into the house. I should also mention that the wall runs along the rafters. As MANY neighbors have done, they have installed a laminated beam 315x90 on 90x90 posts but I have also heard that some of them have placed a VKR pipe on posts to then lower the ceiling slightly and conceal it. What do you think? Would it work with what the blacksmith suggested, VKR 100x100x10 as a horizontal beam on wooden posts? Thanks for the tips and answers

Have you talked to your neighbors about what calculations they have done? If the wall runs along the roof trusses, it might not even be a load-bearing wall. What does it look like on the floor above? Is there a wall there too or is it an open space?

I think you'll get more and better answers here on the forum if you post pictures and/or sketches/drawings.
