Does anyone have glulam posts outdoors and have had them for several years and can say how they hold up outdoors, partially unprotected from the weather but painted?
The idea is possibly 90x90 posts for a patio roof with only a 10-20 cm roof overhang, meaning they will get wet. They will also continue down to the footing, with in such a case spacer pads underneath. Will they survive without rotting if maintained and painted maybe every 10 years and painted properly before installation? Maybe the patio will be enclosed someday, but not at all certain, and if so in a few years.
Bonus question; what type of paint have you used on the glulam?
