Hello! My second post on the forum.

I have cleaned up a wall and it is a load-bearing part of the construction.

Now the question is, is it possible and how can one remove the standing studs? Today, there is a frame that is welded on the outside, which can be seen in the picture.

We therefore want a post by the wall, and then of course the right post must remain. The distance will then be approximately 5.3 meters in its entirety.

How would you solve this? And where can you find, for example, an I-beam, it seems like laminated wood beams are available at most building supply stores.

Contact an engineer who can calculate which beam you need. A distinction is made between I-beam and H-beam. H-beams have wider flanges, and that's the kind you should have. H-beam provides the greatest strength relative to the beam's height. Furthermore, there are different types of H-beam, the most common being HEA and HEB. HEB is the strongest but also the heaviest and most expensive. It is probably more common to use HEA. Once you know which beam you need, you order it from a steel company.
