Glued laminated timber attachments against each other question
I am building a house.
The house is 7 meters wide and is a 1.5-story house. The intermediate floor is 220mm with a recessed glulam beam in the middle for more stiffness in the floor. The beam is 270*115.
On one gable, the beam rests on a glulam post in the wall, but on the other gable, we have a window section, so the load is carried by another beam above the section; that beam is 90*315. The 270*115 beam cannot sit on top of the 315 beam but will be at the same height, so it needs to be attached with a beam hanger or good fixings.
Now to my question, where can one buy strong fixings for this, or how do you solve the joining of these two?
Grateful for tips. Best regards, Fredrik

Is the 115x270 beam 7m long? It sounds a bit long if so.
Important when fastening to the beam at the gable is that the fastening prevents the beam from twisting. Is there no possibility to fit an H-profile where you can place it on the bottom flange?

If the house is 7 m wide, how long is it? That is, what is the length of the glulam beam's span? If the 115x270 beam is to replace a load-bearing wall, the dimension is far too weak. Something is not right, possibly just in the description. However, this type of problem should not occur when building new construction. The best approach is to take a step back and reconsider. You must have a clear idea of the load-bearing structure before getting into details.
I used.
Construction screw Essve Et-T 8.2X220mm
When I assembled my laminated beams against each other, I did not use any fittings or beam shoes.
It is important to screw at an oblique angle so the screw passes through as many growth rings as possible.
