I was going to glue support battens to the underside of a hole in an old parquet floor, used a new PL 600 that is supposed to set quickly. After about fifteen minutes, I removed the clamps. The battens came off when I checked if they were secure. The adhesive feels like window putty, dry and crumbly. Is the adhesive old or is it the wrong adhesive for this purpose?

It's wood to wood, I'm going to lay plywood on the battens and on that parquet strips to repair a hole in the parquet.

Kit-like, dry and crumbling is something pl600 absolutely should not do straight from the tube! Has it frozen? Old?

Bought today at K rauta. Date ok.

frozen

I guess I'll have to claim the glue then. But how well does PL 600 bond/hold compared to wood glue when I'm using clamps anyway? Can't use screws and it's a floor, so it needs to hold up to being stood on.

really good
