I have a stove with protective plates in front, the floor is a lacquered wooden floor. In connection with floor sanding and re-lacquering, the plates were removed, and now I need to glue them back. What kind of glue should I get?

Preferably something that can be removed without too much hassle, as I'm planning to replace the existing metal sheets with new ones after a while.

You can't imagine double-sided tape for as long since you will replace them anyway?
Otherwise, a regular construction adhesive in a tube works, which can be cut away with a razor blade if you only glue around the edges. Hopefully, it adheres less to the paint so that the paint doesn't come off, but it's hard to say.

Maybe a thin silicone string instead of construction adhesive?
I have the feeling that it's gentler on the paint during disassembly.

But otherwise, I agree with the previous post: If you know they are going to be replaced soon, tape is probably the best option.

I had put tape if they need to be replaced, glue will be a lot of work.
