Hello!

I've just bought a new apartment and plan to install stylish moldings in an old style to match the rest of the 20s apartment. I can't install the moldings directly on the concrete wall since it isn't completely even and is also rolled. My question now is: can I glue 8mm MDF on the walls to get a 100% even surface? And how do I then handle the joint filling?

Grateful for answers!

Would use renovation gypsum instead

Is it possible to paint with lacquer paint on plaster?

Yes, plaster is non-reactive and fits better on concrete and yes, it is possible to paint lacquer on plaster.

Concrete was rare in the 20s, so I would guess that the wall is a plastered brick or plank wall.
