Glue for attaching vapor barrier to wood?
Hi
We are trying to connect the vapor barrier in the walls to the window frames. The age-resistant tape is not sticking very well. I have read on the forum about an adhesive that worked for the vapor barrier and wood, but I can't find that thread.
Does anyone know the adhesive?
Or is there any other good way to seal against the window frame?
Thanks!

Hello daije,
Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I don't think it's that simple. We have heavily added insulation, so the vapor barrier must be really tight to prevent moist indoor air from escaping and condensing in the walls.

OK, good thank you!
Are the backer rod and latex caulk vapor-tight? I have searched Sika's, Casco's, and Bostik's websites without finding information about that. When I google diffusion-tight sealant, there are a lot of instructions that it should be used when installing windows, but I find no reference to any sealant that is vapor-tight.
Does the latex adhere to the vapor barrier?

Does the latex adhere to the vapor barrier?
if you use building foam instead of drev, it becomes diffusion-tight

Does the latex adhere to the diffusion plastic?
One of many products! Google diffusion-tight sealant, and you'll find many results!
We finally got hold of our constructor. He thought we should use Sika's Igaspistolet. It is butyl rubber-based, not latex. It is special for diffspärr and the only one that works in Sika's range according to them. There are probably other equivalent compounds, but we will test this one.
Thanks for all the answers!
