Hello

I have demolished one side of an interior wall that consists of some masonite-like board of 9mm with studs made of something like cardboard (at least that's what they look like, see picture).

Since the spacing of the actual studs is 120cm, I need to set up a bunch of new studs, and my question is, can you glue the stud to the part of the wall that's left?
I don't want to screw from the other side and ruin the wallpaper and such.
Which glue should be used in that case?

  • Inner wall partially removed showing 9mm fiberboard and honeycomb-like cardboard supports, with wood stud exposed. Debris is visible on the floor.
It works great to glue the drywall, we glue all the gypsum at work as you only need to use 9 drywall screws. Sättlim

Very good idea to glue. Use regular white glue or construction adhesive.

I myself have plenty of these corrugated cardboard walls in my group-built house from '69 built by SIAB. There is hardly any sound insulation since the surfaces are connected, but the construction is rigid. What the heck were they thinking?

Nice, plenty of glue will be bought here :)
