There is a gap at the top between the facade and the outlet which is for FLVP. Should it be like this or have the carpenters cut too large a hole? Water must be leaking in there, I think?

  • Vent hole in white wooden facade with a gap at the top, potential for water entry, questioning workmanship quality.

Yes, it looks like the hole through the facade is too big. Unscrew the hood and see how it looks behind. Maybe just an adjustment of the pipe's position is needed?

Certainly looks like someone made a wrong cut...

I would probably have removed the outlet and tried to patch together a piece of wood of suitable size so that it looks a bit better, not an open hole in the facade.

Painting over it can probably make it quite good.

Is it a Smålandsvillan?
It looks like that for all the neighbors who have built a Smålandsvillan in our relatively new area.

The flashing likely goes up behind the panel to prevent it from running backward.

Yes, it is a smålandsvillan and the house is almost 3 years old.

I took a closer look with the ladder and see that it's a metal flashing that goes in with edges, so the hole is probably supposed to be there. Then I can probably fall back asleep. :)

  • Close-up of a metal flashing inset against a white textured wall, indicating intentional construction design.
