sitting at home with a sick child and getting a report from my partner: the erection of our prefab house is taking longer than expected. The roof won't be in place until tomorrow (the walls are up)....and it's raining...how bad is it?
One hopes that they get the roof so it lies over the outer walls so that there isn't so much in them. If it's a board roof, one can hope they place the first board all around, that's what I've always done when constructing houses to not let in so much water. But if you add a little heat later, it will all dry out.
One can hope, but it's not likely. There are three large steel beams they don't want to install in the dark, so the roof is on tomorrow. According to the site manager, there shouldn't be any danger since the outer walls are still wrapped in plastic from the factory. No danger to the insulation, but maybe moisture will get on the plasterboards, according to him. If that's true, it's not so serious...
As long as the water doesn't get inside the plastic and it is built again very quickly, it should be fine...
Good luck with everything

Yes, we'll just keep our fingers crossed and they'll check it tomorrow morning. It was supposed to stop raining tonight
The partner worked with it today and he thought it seemed like it was properly covered with plastic. Additionally, he could see that we managed to get the angle of the house (i.e., the view) just as we had intended
.
Thank you so much!

One more question: can you check moisture in the walls afterwards in any way? Does a regular moisture meter work? How does it work and should you check on several occasions? Like tomorrow and then continue measuring to make sure it has really "dried out"?
Yes, it turned out to be several questions...

It will be a matter of answering YES to all your questions. Check with your KA about what applies and how he intended to follow up to ensure it hasn't become damp in the walls. If he hadn't planned to check that, it might be a good idea to do it yourself.
