Started renovating an older house, remodeled sometime in the 60s. In the exterior walls, there are still logs left from the old house built in the late 1800s.

We will be installing new electrical wiring and need to frame for new installation space. How would you save as much floor space as possible? Is it 45x45 + OSB and gypsum that applies? Or can you frame with ströläkt 23x36 instead to save a few cm? What would you use for insulation in that case?

In several rooms, there is Tretex, so it’s possible to route directly in the board there, but maybe it's best to tear it down as well? In the kitchen where I am working now, there was only Masonite nailed directly to the standing boards.

Do you have any good tips?

Or is it simply that I should tear down the plank wall too?
