Attach a stud to an interior wall.
The ceiling is drywall on sparse wooden battens.
Can the upper stud be glued instead of screwed through the drywall, risking it cracking/splintering?
What kind of glue can be used, or is it a bad idea?

I think it sounds like a bad idea even if it might work. Depending on how the glesen is set, I would either look for the glesen and screw into it, or if it is set the other way, cut away the plaster where the wall is to go and screw into what the glesen is attached to.

The thing is, it's a wall constructed next to an existing interior wall. It's to make the existing wall thicker and to be able to run pipes and network cables. The existing wall is 45*45 and in my opinion, very poorly built with paper strips that stiffen it, and I don't want to deal with it as it will show in the room on the other side. It's easier to construct one next to it. 70s prefab house with thin, poor interior walls.

But maybe I'll try to screw through the drywall and battens carefully.
