An interior garage wall had to be taken down due to a leak from the roof. What remains is the panel and an oil-hardened board(?) between the panel and the studs. When I rebuild it, I'm considering making the insulation thicker.
The garage maintains about 6-8 degrees in winter (in Norrland). The garage door from -72 will also be replaced with one that hopefully insulates a bit better.
I'm thinking I can attach (screw on) studs to the existing ones to create deeper space for more insulation.
I'm considering the bottom stud along the floor. Should I place a similar one in front like the studs, or can the insulation go all the way down to the floor?
I acknowledge the opinion that increasing the insulation might be unnecessary. But I hope and believe that the garage could have a slightly better temperature with thicker insulation.
