I plan to set up a small woodworking shop in part of an old outbuilding. Since it was an old pigsty, the floor is very uneven with various poured edges and dividers. The floor is a concrete slab cast sometime in the 1940s or 50s, I guess. My plan is to build a framework and then lay an old plank floor on top. But how do I do this best to avoid moisture problems? Plastic under everything or let it be and allow any moisture to "breathe" through the floor? The space will be uninsulated, but I might install a small heater to keep it frost-free.
