I was thinking of plastering this, do you think I can do it without moving the stove? It's in my summer cottage.

I've never plastered before, worth mentioning perhaps.. and sorry about the picture, but it was the only decent one I could find of the "wall" behind it. It's made of lightweight concrete. :|

  • A wood stove against a light concrete wall in a summer cabin, with nearby construction materials and a partial assembly of wooden boards.
If you want, you are welcome to provide some practical tips too, if it's possible to polish that is.

Någon?

I think it will be too cramped, especially to the left of the kamin.

Unfortunately, I think even a pro would find it difficult to plaster tightly behind a stove, with satisfactory results. As a beginner, I chose to plaster the equivalent protective wall at my place with gipsputs, easy to work with and can be recommended.

Lovely walls, by the way.

Here you can see a bit better how much space there is. The same distance backward as to the side.

Still too tight? You could say I was tricked into this... so I didn't put myself in this position. :( Ideally, I want to try tapping it a bit with fir branches to give it an uneven look like back in the days. But maybe that's not done??

But that's what happens when you don't get the quote on paper...

If it can't be polished, it will be time to cast slabs in concrete and place them there.. :|

Can't you wrap the stove in some kind of plastic to protect it from splashes?

20 cm free? I think it works.

you can do it. also try with spackelspadar.
you will solve it

Alternative #2 is probably to plaster the stuff and then paint with color + texture medium. But maybe one doesn't dare to place a plasterboard behind the stove? I'm mainly thinking about the paper, even if it's painted.

Opinions?

Wow, you respond quickly here. Yes, but it's about 20cm behind. You can still reach all parts without major problems.

Then I'll try to polish :)

Then I'll just find out how to polish :)

S
spackle and then texture paint. no gypsum board in that case

There was significantly more space than it appeared in the first picture. That is absolutely no problem with plaster and shouldn't even be any problem with kc-putty.

Seems like a nice cottage! Unfortunately, I can't give any advice on plastering, I'm a plaster illiterate unfortunately. Then, the silly question, why wasn't it plastered before the stove was put in place?
