Hello,

I was considering getting 2 glass doors for the shower instead of a curtain. Inredningsglas is a company that specializes in stylish solutions for this, but I was wondering if it might be cheaper to do it myself. From a glass company, order 2 tempered glass panels with cutouts for pipes, purchase suitable hinges. Drilling in glass should also be possible for the knobs, right? What do you think?

I don't think it's worth it. From what I understand, it's not possible to drill into tempered glass afterwards.

We also looked at INR, but ended up ordering shower walls and doors from a glass shop. The price, including installation, was slightly below what INR would charge. We thought it was a good idea to order with installation because the shower walls/doors are quite heavy, and the risk of them getting damaged is covered by the glass company since we ordered with installation.

Normally, you need to have a hinge and these are not made of glass as far as I know ;)

The simplest/best option is probably to buy a ready-made shower wall and start from there. I myself bought IFÖ space 2000 and am very satisfied.

A friend ordered glass from a "regular glass company" for his shower corner. Since there were no standard doors in the dimensions he wanted. Went great.. they drilled the holes for him and he installed some type of standard hinge.

Don't know what it cost though...

Yes, there are metal hinges for glass doors that you can "clamp on" I've seen, I don't think it requires drilling holes. But it's worth looking into whether it's possible to drill smoothly in tempered glass or not, I think it's possible with a small sharp tile/ceramic drill bit.
