Hello,

I am planning to install a liner in an old flue. The flue isn't located in the middle of the chimney but on the side. I want to make the chimney a bit larger so the stove will be centered in the chimney. In the additional space, I would like to store some wood for the stove.

How can I do this in the best way? Build on the side with concrete blocks?

Or attach a steel stud to the chimney and build with drywall?

How do I fix the hole in the chimney (I have removed some bricks for the liner/throttle)? Can I use concrete blocks to build it back up and use masonry mortar B?

And at the end, plaster with masonry mortar C? Currently, there's no plaster on the chimney.

Sorry for perhaps silly questions, but I would like some ideas/comments.
Thanks!
