Hello!
I need to fix a rather unusual type of basement wall. It's a small house located in a grotto—an old security archive. Therefore, there isn't much moisture on the walls; instead, it comes up from the base despite the house standing on gravel.
The previous owner painted with plastic paint, so there are about 3 square meters of plaster peeling and now some sanding marks from removing the paint.
Where there is significant plaster peeling, we can of course re-plaster, but the rest of the wall I'd like to skim coat and paint.
Due to the situation with arches and such, I wouldn't want to build more than 1-2 mm, and it feels tricky to succeed with that by fine plastering everything with 1mm mortar.
I've looked at Ardex F5, but it's expensive and I don't know how it would be with a slurry like Heydi Vit.
Anyone has a good suggestion - preferably one that involves a sandable skim coating.
I plan to paint with an indoor silicate unless we slurry the wall with Hey'di Vit.
