I bought a bathroom vanity that was damaged during transport. I have now received it for free and instead of buying a new one for 5000:- I'm considering repairing the corner and spray painting the whole thing. I have removed what was crushed and now plan to build up with some form of compound that I can then sand down. I assume it’s too much missing to use fine filler? Do you have any other ideas?

Use wood filler. You won't need to spray paint the whole thing; you can paint with a wood paint gloss 20 on the wood filler after you've sanded it. Only you will remember that the damage was there!

Build up with epoxy, Araldite or similar.
Alternatively, remove more material and glue a new piece of wood that can be sanded down.

Thanks! Great tips from everyone! Yes, Stadsfiskalen, I actually think you're right about the varnishing. What do you think is best in the long run? Installing a new piece of wood is probably the most durable option? Epoxy also feels stable, but maybe difficult to work with during sanding?

Thank you for your tips! It went perfectly fine. First, I built up with loctite epoxy paste and finished with wood putty. It turned out great.
