Hello,
We are currently planning an "attefallare" and have determined that our existing house needs to meet at least EI30 for the placement we want. The existing house is 100+ years old and consists of (from the outside in) Lime plaster about 30mm, Old tongue-and-groove wooden facade 25mm, tongue-and-groove planks 70mm, air gap ("insulation") 10mm (with sawdust in places but mostly air), tongue-and-groove 25mm, gypsum 12mm.
I have searched, looked, called, asked but only found one example on Dafo's website that 50mm tongue-and-groove planks themselves are EI30.
The next step will be to hire a fire consultant, but I'm really eager to know already (on vacation, so it's hard to find someone). Thanks in advance.

Rickard.
I also can't calculate it and thus can't "prove" anything, but it's completely unrealistic that the wall wouldn't achieve ei30 considering what I know does.

You can try googling "additionsmetoden brand" if you want to give it a try.

There are many courses and books on how to calculate, but I find very sparse information online. Then you still need to know each material and can't find that either. Spontaneously, I agree with you that it "should" fulfill...

When I built the garage near the house, there were no requirements for the existing house. The garage, however, had to meet ei30.
So isn't it enough for the Attefall house to be built with ei30?

Unfortunately not, Attefall houses are small houses so they are classified differently, and it's the combination of proximity both here and there that raises the requirements (or EI60 for the Attefall house but then there are complications with windows etc). It's my wife who is the expert on what's needed, so I don't have the details though (architect, some CAD program that provides the requirements). Unfortunately, she says, "I had to calculate this kind of stuff in school but have no idea how," can't blame her for that :)

Look at that. Then it's just a relief that it's your own house that's nearby, it would have been a hassle if you had gotten permission from the neighbor to build close to their house. 😀

That is also unfortunately the case. But in that direction, we don't need windows, so we'll solve it by having a higher classification on the "attefallare" in that direction. It's bloody complicated in any case...

I have uploaded a PDF from Paroc, where the addition method is found at the end of the document.

Thanks, maybe I can get it to work with that, but the question is whether a solid tongue-and-groove wood wall counts as a wood-based panel, as I don't really have any modern materials in my house.
