We have been waiting a long time to have fiber installed in our old brick house from 1897, which stands on a stone foundation. Today at 7:00 AM, the technician showed up in the middle of breakfast with two kids present. So it was a bit chaotic. We previously had a meeting with the installation manager who had marked where the cable was supposed to enter the house, a few centimeters above the foundation. Today, the hole was supposed to be drilled and the box installed.
The man gets to work, and we don't think much of it. He keeps drilling and drilling, which puzzles us a bit, but with two small kids screaming, you don't think much more about it. After a while he finished, but told us he accidentally drilled into stone. We figured he had drilled into the stone foundation, changed direction, and found a better spot. The box was installed, and everything worked fine.
Now at lunchtime, when it’s a bit brighter, I went outside to see how it looks on the house. I discovered that he simply drilled straight down through the stone foundation... I'm not sure how he managed that, but he did. Besides looking a bit silly (which can be fixed relatively easily), I naturally start thinking about how good this actually is. Or rather, is this bad?
Is there a risk that the stone has cracked (or will crack), could we risk settling (it's in a corner of the house that's already a bit affected)? Do we need to lose sleep over this now? Or is it just a matter of hiding the cable and being happy?

This is better for you, much easier to hide the cable.

It would even have been better to drill a little lower so that it emerges on the underside of the stone, kind of. Then it would have been completely hidden.......
