Fastening: Pocket hole vs nail

Hello,
I am going to build a French cleat wall with accompanying shelves and a whole bunch of drawers.

Drawers and shelves will be built in 12 mm plywood (ended up with a lot left over that takes up space).

The idea is to keep it simple and go with “butt joints” using either

- Pocket-hole screwing and glue or
- Brads and glue

So what is preferable?

What will you have in the drawers? A few not so heavy items - glue and nails will do just fine. Do whatever is quickest and easiest.
