I'm going to put up a wall in the basement. How should I attach the studs to the concrete wall, ceiling, and floor? Are regular plugs and screws enough, or do I need, for example, an expansion bolt? Or can I use nail plugs?
And how closely do I need to fasten them?

Best regards, Anders

If they are plåtreglar, there are spikplugg for this, where even the plug is made of metal.

no it's wooden studs I will use

Expansion nail is very convenient and is strong as a rock. However, it does not work in lightweight concrete and blue concrete.

PL-400 is never dumb :)

I also recommend the expander spike... Super easy... Drill a hole around 8 mm straight through the beam and down into the concrete to the depth it should be. Then just hammer it in....
No messing around with plugs or nuts or anything like that...
So. Daveo has the best suggestion.

ok thanks for the response, I used some concrete nail plugs from Bårebo and they worked fine.

Reviving this thread again...

If it's a lightweight concrete wall/floor, what should be used then?
What should one/recommend to use for screws when screwing together wood studs? Regular wood screws (maybe a silly question, but it's better to do it right than to guess)?

There are specific lightweight concrete plugs.

Wood screws are suitable for joining wooden studs, yes.

anra:
If it's a regular join, i.e., putting two studs together lengthwise, then it's usually strongest to nail.
Otherwise, if you're joining in a framework, I recommend something like Cutters. Torx head on them and a special tip that easily drills into the wood.

Wakes up again.
But now it's about floors...
I'm planning to have a load-bearing wall with 95mm wooden studs. Of course, "syllpapp" underneath, but how on earth do you attach it to the floor? Nailing it through with a hammer makes holes in the syllpapp, or is that how it's done? Or glue it with PL-400/600?

Then I have metal studs on the outer wall. I have no desire to drill holes around the entire house. That would be a bit too much... I've seen that there's some bolt gun one could use, but it seems that you need a license to use one of those. They are apparently powder-driven. Wouldn't a pneumatic nail gun be enough?

Can someone contribute something?

The bolt gun does require a license, yes, and you probably still have to shoot about the same amount of bolts that you would otherwise need to drill holes for anyway, maybe slightly fewer.

I would absolutely not recommend shooting with a nail gun into a concrete wall (I assume that's what you have) in the outer wall.

It concerns newly poured concrete floor. Not wall.
Sure, there will be as many but clearly less troublesome...
How do you get a license? Shooting test? :)

Yes, you can try contacting Hilti or some other similar company, they usually hold training sessions etc.

Hello!

Reviving the thread. We're planning to build a deck this spring, a nice-sized project for a new homeowner :).

I'm thinking of attaching my ledger board to the basement wall, which consists of concrete hollow blocks, how do I do that? Expansion bolts?

While I'm asking... I've been thinking of putting a roof over about half of the deck. How do I attach the rafters to the house wall in the best and most discreet way? We have a brick house. Can I use regular joist hangers? The roof will be about 4 meters long and 3.5 meters wide, with plastic as the roofing.

A novice gratefully accepting advice.
/Pierre
