I'm going to do some sheet metal work, including joining a couple of ridge caps at the ridge with a simple standing seam (I think it looks the best) and folding several window flashings. Therefore, I'm thinking of getting a decent seaming plier.
1. What should I go for for home projects of this kind: Straight, 45 degrees, or 90 degrees?
2. Is there any budget-friendly brand? I'm willing to spend 500-600 SEK.

Why do you prefer a 45-degree over a straight one? Easier to work with? And can you really get a Stubai for that money? They seem to be a few hundred more.
Sorry for hijacking the thread and any blasphemy...
I'm wondering how bad this is (BT, 259:- 10 years warranty class):

I was actually about to buy one of those today when I saw the thread and am wondering if I should bother trying to find a Stubai here (Swedol doesn't have any in stock). I'll probably be doing simpler tasks than TS. (Mostly underbleck)

Buy it, test it, return it if you're not satisfied! If there's anything to be said about Biltema, it's that (at least not in the stores I shop in) there's never any trouble returning things...Anders243 said:

Generally speaking, their "10-year warranty items" are quite okay, especially for tools you don't use 24/7...

A 60mm 45° stubai is the only falstång that always follows me to my jobs, and that shape is the one I recommend even though I'm convinced you would be satisfied with a slightly cheaper one.
90° is unpleasant to work with even though it is sometimes worth having, and a wider straight one can be useful for long straight folds but is less versatile.

Thank you for the information! Good answer.
ETC is cheap Chinese junk. I used to work at a building supply store and it was the bottom segment. It's not better than Biltema's cheap stuff, and Biltema is probably better at handling returns.J Jesper Ronn said:
What do you say about Bessi/Erdis pliers? Comparable to Stubai or lower quality. I haven't found a Stubai plier around 500-600 SEK but I have found a Bessi/Erdi.T toolman77 said:

Yes, looking at the above, the Biltema pliers seem to have nice forging at least. Not as rough as the others. If you're not a professional and will use it sporadically, it should probably suffice.
