Hi! Do you think this is mold? I'm tearing down drywall in the basement where it seems they've nailed the boards directly to the wall without any air gap or anything similar. I'm in the process of revealing the concrete.

Does the wall look OK? I'm considering just plastering it later. The boards seem to have traces of mold?

  • Close-up of a damaged drywall with signs of mold, showing peeling layers and dark spots, suggesting possible moisture damage in a basement.
  • Close-up of basement drywall with possible mold spots, being removed to expose concrete. No air gap between gypsum board and wall.
  • Bare concrete wall in a basement being renovated, with debris on the floor and remnants of plasterboard showing possible mold stains.
Maybe It, doesn't matter now that they are gone and you're doing the right thing.

Thanks for the feedback! Feels right. Also found one outer wall that is framed with wooden studs... Not so smart.

Hmm, what do you say? Should I go with a plastered wall or frame with Steel studs & drywall?.. Which is most advantageous?

The room is about 15sqm
