extension with glulam beam in ridge
I've started planning a 1.5-story extension that will be about 50 square meters (6x8). I want a loft and sloped ceiling and therefore plan to build with a glulam beam at the ridge. Is there anyone here with basic construction competence who can assess if I'm on the right track with my construction sketch? Is this how it's done with glulam beam construction? Grateful for answers!
Edit:
1. I'm happy to receive advice on the sizing of the columns supporting the glulam beam. According to Svenskt Trä, the glulam beam should be 115X630. However, the dimension of the columns is not provided. Nor is it clear if the columns need to reach all the way down to the concrete slab or if they can rest on the basement foundation wall.
2. Do the rafters that will lie on the glulam beam down to the house wall need to be glulam, or is it okay to use regular 45x220 cc60 (the house is 6m wide)?
