Drill up chandelier...how do I mount securely?
Planning to install a chandelier weighing 6-9 kg (not properly weighed) in the living room. Living in an old house from 1945, so it's likely to have quite solid concrete in the ceiling.
What should be considered when installing such heavy items? Living in an apartment, so I can't reinforce from the "other side," so to speak. Is there a specific type of anchor that should be used?

Use an expansion anchor. It looks like a screw with a sleeve around it; once you've drilled, pushed in the sleeve, and screwed in the hook (screw with a hook on it), the sleeve expands and it stays put like a rock. I've tested hanging from one, and it held 85kg
I'll look for a link for you.
