I have a detail (like a heavy small shelf) with a plastic back, which I would like to mount with double-sided tape onto a glossy tile on the wall. Preferably, I would like to avoid drilling. The detail has a surface against the wall of 270mm x 55mm. The lever arm/depth is 55-60mm at the outer edge, and the mounting/tape should support a constant weight of 3-5kg.
What suitable double-sided tape is available for this purpose?

Not tape per se, but search for something called Glabete. It's a type of adhesive used for drill-free mounting and is easy to remove if you change your mind. I've put up shelves in my bathroom, and they haven't fallen down yet.
