How do you make nice corners in the best way? If everything is as it should be, there's no problem, but if the frame sticks out 2-4mm from the wall, it's almost impossible to get it right.

One can miter two angles simultaneously, if one has such a saw...
One at 45 degrees, and the other to compensate for the board's inward tilt.

So that the saw blade tilts a few degrees, and is angled at 45 degrees.
 
Saw a thin strip with the right width and place it behind the trim. Apply a flexible sealant where the gap is too small to fill with wood.
