We have had a major renovation where we enclosed a previous space that reached up to the roof with a new floor structure. We also added a room in that area, which meant putting up walls. I am now dealing with the last door and its casing, where the new wall comes in at a 45-degree angle to the door frame. How on earth should I tackle this? See picture. The reason the wall meets there is because it was adjusted for a new stairway opening.
Try placing the vertical piece first, then shape the horizontal one. Cut it first at 67.5 degrees (vertically, that is), and then follow the edge with a knife or saw.

The normal would be that the upper trim continues over the standing trim and is mitered at 45 degrees. Do the same now, with the difference that you need to cut the upper trim just before the 45-degree miter and adjust to the wall's angle.

For the curious, the outcome is here. It should of course be trimmed with the correct angle and without splintering. Want to thank @MathiasS for the solution
Given the non-optimal conditions, I think that could turn out well.
If you want to make it more luxurious, try to join the two upper parts in some way, maybe mill a groove that makes the gluing between the parts hold better.
The real woodworking guys here on the forum surely have some better tips around that.
