Hello

I have installed two rows of concrete piers and a row of concrete slabs near the house foundation. The pier rows have 45X170 support beams, and the concrete slabs align with them. Nothing is anchored to the house foundation, which is a concrete slab on ground. Therefore, the deck will be floating. I have the option to choose how far out from the foundation the ends of the floor joists should be. I was thinking 2 cm, but maybe that's too little. I don't want debris to accumulate behind the ends. The floor joist is skew nailed into the other two support beams and gets a 34X145 deck board at the other end. Is 2 cm good, or is there any standard practice?

Hello.

How far did it end up being between the end grain and the concrete foundation? I'm building pretty much like you.

About 10 mm. It has remained stable since then. If I had to do it again, I would have placed a regel in the gravel closest to the house instead of a slab per floor regel to avoid having to level each slab individually.

Ok, I have laid 87 stone slabs ‍ and a horizontal joist on top. It takes a while to level, but I recommend laser (y)
