Hello,

The basement walls are made of concrete block, as is the central wall.

What is the likelihood that these walls are reinforced?

If it is a regular detached house, almost none. My villa from 1943 has no reinforcement in the concrete block walls.

Mine from 47 had no reinforcement in the heart wall's hollow brick.

....but even if there is reinforcement, it's not a problem if you want to make holes etc?

No, it's fine, but I'm just preparing myself mentally :)

Make a neat cut with the vinkelharry on the outermost layer and then chip away the rest with the hammer drill.

Villa from -58, no reinforcement here either

In 1945, all the metal they could get hold of was probably needed for the armament industry. The reinforcement bars were needed for shelters. The risk that there is something in your wall is small.

My house is from 1937 and has no reinforcement.

Probably not reinforced.
On the other hand, if that is the case, chip it clean and cut with an angle grinder, hacksaw, or large pliers.
