From an economic standpoint, an attached one might be preferred - one less exterior wall, and the garage also functions as a heat buffer for the house, so heating costs should be somewhat lower. It also provides flexibility for the future - perhaps you or the next owner might want to open up from the house to the garage and create a hobby room/office/guest room/spa there, and park the car in a carport instead.
Then I'll mention the disadvantages
You get a fire cell boundary which requires a bit of extra work. Then there's smell, noise, and dust if you're doing something in the garage. These are improved with a separate garage.
A major advantage is that you have tools and the like accessible from inside without having to force through a snowdrift in the dark

For 1 year now, I've had a 75m2 garage/workshop built together with the house and I find it very convenient. Perfect to slip over in slippers to fix some small thing or just to get a little "me time"
The only downside that has been mentioned, which I agree with, is dust/smell/noise that can be disturbing if not considered. The fire rating when I built it was EI 30, which pretty much any wall meets.

The downside of having it attached is that it disturbs other residents when the compressor or noisy tools are used, and welding smoke or something smelly can also be noticeable. But the advantages outweigh the disadvantages; if I had the opportunity, I would attach it to the house, 75 m2 sounds like a reasonable space, and congratulations on that d^_^b I suddenly felt like I should change houses
We built a 90 sqm attached extension 2 years ago. Why attached?
As previously mentioned, you can step out whenever you want in just your slippers.
It would have been too narrow if we hadn't attached it to the house.
Electricity and water are easy to connect.
You can load things directly from the car into the kitchen if you build in the right place with the right conditions.
Well, that's about it.
Regarding noise, it works quite well. I can saw and tinker inside the garage without the wife complaining or the kids waking up.
Whether it makes construction easier, I'm not sure. Sure, you avoid building part of a wall, but then you have to make the roof watertight against the existing outer wall and make it look good with the house, so that part probably matters less.
But as I said, it's really nice to be able to run out to the garage and have access to things. You can then store quite a lot in the garage and on the garage loft which you might need access to without wanting to go out in the cold and run around.

It must be awesome to just quickly dress in some warm clothes, start the snowblower and just go for a minute without stepping in the snow.
Or go away to shop. From one garage to the other garage. You just press the remote and the door opens. All while it rains like hell!

Great when it's cold and rainy outside. Just take a spin through the basement and into the car that maintains +12 when you drive out in -20.
The downside is that you become too lazy to shovel before driving out, so you drive over two hard tracks.
But it's really pleasant to come home when it's pouring rain and just press the remote and back in.
