Hello,

I have a couple of outbuildings where a few small window panes are broken. Is there some kind of transparent plastic that I could buy to cut and putty myself? I'm thinking of plexiglass, but it can't be cut and broken, right?

So, the aesthetic result is not top priority...

Best regards,
Pagge

You can saw Plexiglas with a jigsaw, works perfectly fine. Just remember to keep the protective plastic on while you're sawing...

edit, I have no experience with putting putty on plexiglass, I would probably have used silicone or some other sealant.

If it is extruded acrylic (plexi), there are special cutters that can be scored a number of times and then broken. It is also possible with a circular saw. You can also use a jigsaw, although the risk of cracking is high. Acrylic can be puttied if you want, how long it will last, I don't know. Do not use linseed oil putty.
