Hi!

I have cast a 45mm countertop with expanding concrete (fine). In a quick last-minute change of the design, I forgot to consider another dimension that was also affected (yes, I regret it 🤯).

In summary, I might need to cut it a bit. What should I use, does an angle grinder with the right blade work, or do I need to rent something larger? Anything to use/do to reduce chipping?

The cross-section of the cut won't be visible, but the top edge will. There is reinforcement mesh in the slab.

Hello.
An angle grinder with a diamond blade should do the job. The upper edge you can bevel/grind afterwards.

It can also help to tape along the cut to reduce chipping.

Edit: Alternatively, a plunge saw with a diamond blade. That might be even better.
