Need quick help!!!

We live in a house from 53. A concrete house.
I'm in the process of tearing down wallpaper. One of the exterior walls has been bulging the entire time we've lived here. As if a thin particle board or something was there.
I started removing the wallpaper, and as I get closer to that spot, gypsum starts to appear. Not a gypsum wall, but it looks like it's been plastered with gypsum.
I poke a small hole, and some crumbled cement comes out.
I leave it be, thinking I might have to live with it as it is. It's just a headboard anyway, and low enough that we won't risk mounting anything there.
But the steam machine dissolved some of the gypsum, creating a slightly larger hole, and it feels like half the wall behind is crumbling. :(
The section in question is about 50x50 cm roughly.
What do I do now?
