Cross-bolting - quick question

Just need to check that everything is correct. I need to install cross bracing on a floor structure to make it a bit more stable. How do you correctly perform cross bracing? What dimension of lumber should be used for the cross? And how thick nails?

There is probably no unequivocal truth. 2"x4 or 2"x3 I would have chosen, somewhat depending on the dimensions of the other reglar. 4" nails.

Thank you for the answers! How to nail most easily? Skråspikade? Or from the outside through the floor joist?

Kortla is much simpler. But it adds a bit more weight to the structure and insulates worse if it were an insulated intermediate floor. There are also some old threads on the matter: http://www.byggahus.se/forum/tak-vind/32593-krysskolvning-eller-kortling.html

Personally, I would probably kortla ...

You set them in a zigzag - left/right - and nail straight through the beams.
