Hello everyone!

We have a white painted staircase in our house that has a crack in one of the steps. Unfortunately, the crack is quite long and goes all the way through the step. Is it possible to repair this, or do we just have to accept it and replace the entire staircase?

The painter has filled and painted as best he can, but when the whole staircase is white and nice and this step looks like this, it's not very fun. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the underside. But I'm wondering, can you "separate the gap" and glue it? Or what's best?

Wood shrinks and cracks. If you don't like that, you have to build with other materials.
