As new to the forum, I apologize if I'm posting this question incorrectly:

We are trying to estimate the cost of hiring a craftsman to apply approximately 15 mm of self-leveling compound on a 30 sqm area (concrete basement floor) and then lay tiles. No underfloor heating.

We can probably calculate the cost of the materials ourselves, but is there any way to roughly estimate how much time this might take? I know I can ask tradespeople, but right now we just want to make a rough estimate before contemplating asking craftsmen.

Looking forward to your thoughts and experiences.

Flytspackel consumption:

1.6kg/sqm/mm

1.6kg x 15mm = 24kg x 30sqm = 720kg

That will be 29 bags of spackel at approximately 250kr each = 7250kr for the material.

It might take 2 days for a handyman with primer and material pickup.

400kr + VAT = 500kr/h x 16h = 8000kr

Then that cost can be halved with ROT deduction

I would guess around 12-13000 with ROT

Best regards, Michael

Thank you so much! But laying tiles is not included in the working hours, right?

Nope, just filler. Everything really depends on what kind of tiles they are. You'll use about the same amount of adhesive, but grout can vary with the size of the tiles.

Thank you very much Michael!

It takes a little over 3 kilos of fix/m2 with a 10mm trowel, so 100kg fix for 30m2.

Thanks, Stefan! Now it's just a matter of estimating the cost of laying klinker... this is getting expensive...

Big thanks Michael!
Hope it works out for you, I'm not a flooring installer. So it's an estimate from me.

I work as a carpenter and have a lot of jobs together with the flooring company here, so I don't think I'm completely off track anyway :)

Just wondering why self-leveling compound is used before tiles, is the floor uneven or is there an incorrect slope on the floor?
:S
