As the title suggests

Planning to build new and wondering if it's possible to have construction plastic between battens and the floor structure to keep the insulation on the plastic.
Note that I will also have a vapor barrier in the ceiling.
I don't intend for the plastic to be there for sealing, just to hold in place.

Does it work? Or how do you do it?

I see no problems with it, you are not enclosing any space, any moisture can migrate out through the floor.

Are you going to spray loose fill? If not, it mostly seems like unnecessary extra work to me.

No, not Lösull but boards. How else will it stay in place.

Were you planning to set the panes with CC300? If so, you just fit the insulation after the panes/before the electrical wiring.

Assume with cc600 it becomes too heavy

You set battens across the joists.
If you want plasterboard in the ceiling, you place the battens at cc30, which you then screw the plasterboard to or attach another surface layer.
