Currently renovating the attic, including breaking up the entire floor to reinforce the old floor joists with new laminated beams... then I had the brilliant idea to start calculating for a balcony. My idea is to drill holes in the wall and send out, for example, T-beams that protrude 2m in the air and about 3m inside, which I can anchor to the new laminated beams. If the T-beams are placed at 600cc, one should be able to deck with 45x120 and then add a railing around it and, of course, a door out. But what do you think about the idea of using T-beams? How much load can such a beam handle (the 2m that sticks out)? And what dimension would the beams need to be? Lots of thoughts and ideas at the moment. But if it’s going to become a reality, I need to include it while I’m working on the floor :) Grateful for ideas and suggestions!
